Deejay Johnson is a seasoned vocalist, with a music career that has spanned several decades.
Starting out as a young teenager in the local UP WITH PEOPLE ensemble, she learned how to sing and work with a large group of fellow singers and musicians.
At the age of 21, she joined her first band and continued singing and touring for nearly 15 years. She stopped touring to get married and start a family, but that didn't stop the singing. She continued to sing in her local church worship team and also began to seriously write songs.
After being in an airplane on September 11, 2001, she wrote the song GIVE AMERICA A HAND. She reunited with some of the musicians from one of her touring bands and began a series of recordings that concluded with her first CD "In My Dreams."
Now that her kids are grown and starting their own careers, Deejay is back in another group called Young @ Heart. It's an easy listening group, which features Deejay on vocals, Mark Jenkins on stand up and electric bass, Randy Johnson on keyboards, and Greg Rice on drums. They all met as teenagers in the UP WITH PEOPLE group in Colorado.
Young @ Heart will be performing in the Denver Metro Area.
